For the conceptualization and design of Barcelona’s Christmas electric lighting, that was illuminating Paseo de Gracia during the Christmas Holiday, Lagranja has taken the architect Gaudi and his catenary arches as a starting point.
” In the noblest street of Barcelona, which has two of the great modernist architect’s emblematic buildings —Casa Batlló and Casa Milà— we thought it appropriate to pay a small tribute to the master. The lamps are a free interpretation of Gaudi’s models, which were made of ropes, sandbags, and chains —in an obviously free way, with different sizes and made of red and white LEDs following the most classical Christmas spirit”. The lights were set up all along Paseo de Gracia, from Plaza Cataluña to Jardinets de Gracia —2 km in total.
